Album Track Review: Beautiful World – Vered

I have to say, I'm surprised I haven't discovered this innovative artist sooner. I'm referring, of course, to children's artist Vered, a musician, teacher, author and proud mum whose latest album, Adorable You, is quite superb. An award-winning artist, she has been making waves in children's entertainment for over a decade, clearly establishing herself as a serious creative force. Adding further sparkle to this project, she's enlisted an impressive array of talented artists, each bringing their own unique expertise and personality to the mix.

While these delightful tunes will undoubtedly appeal to a broad range of young listeners, what makes Adorable You particularly interesting is its focus on babies. In both its lyrics and melodies, the album is perfectly pitched for these precious early years, combining gentle arrangements with thoughtful, engaging songwriting. Tracks such as 'The Day We Brought You Home', 'Buttons' and 'Good Morning' are all excellent examples of this approach, showcasing a collection of songs brimming with warmth, sensitivity and genuine musical craftsmanship.

My personal favourite from the album, however, is the wonderful 'Beautiful World'. Its lyrics capture a tender meeting of minds between mother and child, exploring a world in which everything fascinates you simply because it's all so new. Swimming in melody, the song paints a vivid picture of the remarkable planet we share, inviting us to rediscover its wonders through the eyes of a child and perhaps reminding us how often we take such divine beauty for granted.

Musically, the track unfolds with the kind of effortless elegance that the Carpenters might have delivered back in the day. A restrained rhythm section provides plenty of breathing room, allowing the keyboards to work their magic across the arrangement. The song also features an exquisite duet with the very talented Teacher Peter, whose mellifluous vocals bring an extra layer of warmth and character to an already enchanting song.

All things considered, 'Beautiful World' is an outstanding song from an impressive album, by an artist who has already carved out a distinctive niche in children's music. Vered is very much the real deal. The love, joy and sincerity in her voice are unmistakable, while the heartfelt messages are matched by the effortless technical quality of the music. This is music created with genuine care, informed by professional insight and, above all, driven by a deep affection for children and the families who nurture them.

Vered – 'See the world for the first time.'
