SUBMITTING YOUR WORK FOR REVIEW
This blog highlights independent creators of children’s music and books. I write reviews alongside my work as a teacher and musician, so space is limited. Reading these guidelines will help your submission get the best chance of being reviewed.
STANDARD SUBMISSION (FREE)
- Free and added to a rolling queue.
- Reviews are written in the order submissions are received.
- Timing depends on my availability; exact dates can’t be guaranteed.
Wait times may be long due to limited capacity, but all accepted projects are reviewed with care.
KO-FI SUPPORT (OPTIONAL)
Supporters can make a simple Ko-fi donation to help fund extra writing time, without affecting review honesty.
Your support helps me spend more time discovering, listening to, and sharing great indie work — helping artists and authors reach more families.
Supporter options:
- Support the blog: Donate to help keep Electric Kids Music running.
- Priority queue: Supporters can fund an additional weekly review. It doesn't affect the regular queue. I usually publish one review per week. Priority support allows me to add an extra review in a given week. Limited and only when possible.
All reviews remain fully independent.

EDITORIAL APPROACH
Coverage may take the form of:
- Full Review: In-depth focus on songs, albums, or books.
- Artist Spotlight: Highlights the creator and their work overall.
The format is chosen editorially based on what best represents the work. Album reviews may focus on select tracks rather than the entire release.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Music:
Streaming link
Artist name, song/album title, short description
Square artwork file
Link to website or artist info
Books:
Digital copy (PDF/ePub) or physical copy
Author/illustrator name, book title, age range, short description
Cover photo
Link to website or author info

Do you review every submission?
Coverage depends on timing, fit, and available writing space.
Can I request a full review instead of a spotlight?
Format is chosen editorially to best represent the work.
Does Ko-fi support affect what you write?
No. Support only affects scheduling and capacity. All reviews are independent and honest.
